Colorful fall wedding
In October, I photographed the happy and colourful wedding of Lewe and Palmo at the Villa Blumenfisch. The two met during a soccer game in China, where they were both studying at the time. Now they got to celebrate their traditional yet urban wedding here in Berlin and Potsdam.

A trip to China, Australia, Copenhagen and Berlin
After Lewe and Palmo already had their civil ceremony in Copenhagen, they celebrated their Tibetan wedding on a sunny October day at the Rigpa Center in Charlottenburg. Because Palmo’s Australian family has Tibetan roots, it was very important for the bride and groom to have a traditional ceremony with their family.

They had their private First Look in front of the location and then entered the room, where the ceremony would take place, together. The atmosphere was very festive. There were beautiful flowers in golden vases, dazzling colours on the walls and a huge golden Buddha sitting enthroned on a little podium. A Tibetan monk conducted the ceremony, his words were translated into English by a friend of the couple. Here, in the company of their family and friends, sitting in front of the golden Buddha, the two exchanged their rings. They also received a congratulatory white scarf. After the wedding ceremony we had time for an autumn couple shooting. First, I photographed them in front of the Rigpa Center, where the colourful prayer flags added even more hues to the shooting. The couple’s colourful clothes harmonized wonderfully with the prayer flags as well as with the golden autumn tones.

The journey continues through Berlin
We then set out to capture more memories at the Heilandskirche in Sacrow. As a wedding photographer, I am always happy about shooting at different locations. Here we especially enjoyed the beautiful garden at the centre followed by the church by the water. After taking beautiful photographs there, the couple and I took a small boat to the party location, the Villa Blumenfisch. On this short trip over the Wannsee, we were able to capture more beautiful memories.

At the Villa Blumenfisch, the bridal couple changed their outfits. Traditional clothes were exchanged for urban chic. So, while Lewe was tying his red bow himself, Palmo was slipping into a modern white dress.

With fresh energy, the two of them then cut their naked cake, laughed and cried with their speakers and then danced with their loved ones. There was even enough time for a sunset shooting at the pier. The urban, modern and international flair was easily captured thanks to this magical setting. It was a special day that ended with a cheerful party.
